Coming soon to iPhone, Android and the web

It helps if you say which iPhone you have, the app version, and what you did just before the problem. The app version and the question bank version are shown in the app under "About and settings".

Report a wrong question

If you think a question, answer, explanation or figure is wrong, we want to know.

  1. In the app, after you answer the question, tap "Report a problem with this question". It opens a draft email in your own mail app with the question's number already filled in. The app itself sends nothing.
  2. Say what you believe is wrong and, if you can, which rule or federal publication says so.
  3. Send the email.

If no mail app opens, write to [email protected] with the subject "Question report" and the question's number or its wording.

Every report is checked against the federal source. If the question is wrong, it is corrected in an update. If the source supports the question, the reply says where.

Cancel a subscription

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

From the app

  1. Open "About and settings".
  2. Under "Help and legal", tap "Manage or cancel subscription". It opens your App Store account.
  3. Choose "Part 107 Test Prep by the Book" and tap "Cancel Subscription".

From the iPhone's Settings

  1. Open the Settings app and tap your name.
  2. Tap "Subscriptions".
  3. Tap "Part 107 Test Prep by the Book".
  4. Tap "Cancel Subscription". You may need to scroll down to find it.

If there is no "Cancel Subscription" button, the subscription is already cancelled.

Apple changes these screens from time to time. If the steps differ on your phone, search Apple's help pages for "cancel a subscription".

Restore a subscription

If you paid and the app still shows the free sample, for example on a new phone or after reinstalling:

  1. Make sure the phone is signed in to the same Apple account that bought the subscription.
  2. Make sure the phone is online.
  3. In the app, open "About and settings" and tap "Restore purchases". The same button is on the "Unlock everything" screen.

If that does not work, email [email protected] with the date of purchase, the plan, and the purchase id shown in the app under "About and settings", "Your data". Do not send card details.

A subscription follows your Apple account. Your study progress does not: it is stored on the device and is not backed up, so a new phone starts with empty progress.

Refunds

Apple takes the payment and decides refunds. Sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, choose "I'd like to", then "Request a refund", and follow the steps.

Questions people ask

Are these the real FAA test questions?
No. Every question in the app is an original practice question written from public federal sources. The app is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FAA.
Will I pass if I use the app?
No study aid can promise a pass, and this one does not. What the app does: it names your weakest topics on the home screen and after every practice exam, and its readiness measure shows how your practice stands against the 70% pass mark, subject by subject.
What is in the free sample, and what does a subscription unlock?
The free sample has 40 questions, a 20-question, 40-minute practice exam drawn from them, 5 lessons with their 70 flashcards, and the whole glossary. You can take the sample's practice exam as often as you like. Full access is $49.99 a year or $19.99 a month. One try at the FAA test costs about $175. A subscription unlocks all 831 questions, the full practice exam, all 31 lessons and all 429 flashcards, plus the readiness score and the day-by-day study plan. The full practice exam is 60 questions and is timed. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel.
Who checked the questions?
Every question cites the federal source it was written from: the regulations, FAA handbooks, advisory circulars, the Aeronautical Information Manual, FAA charts, or another federal publication. Each was checked against the federal source it cites, in a second pass separate from the one that wrote it. On October 4, 2026 a second, blind re-check of 76 randomly drawn questions found all 76 answer keys correct. If you find an error, please report it.
Is the practice exam the same as the real test?
It has the length, time limit and pass mark of the real test: 60 questions, 120 minutes, 70% to pass, with no feedback until you submit. Its mix of subjects follows the weights PSI publishes for the real test (about half regulations). Its questions are the app's own, and a score on it does not predict your result on the FAA's test.
What does the FAA say changes on October 26, 2026, and does the app cover it?
The FAA's August 2026 advisory says that from October 26, 2026 the test "will include image-based questions not found in the test supplements". Read the FAA's advisory (PDF on faa.gov), or what changes, in the FAA's own words. The app has 70 questions on 12 excerpts of FAA sectional charts (edition of September 3, 2026) that are not in the testing supplement. They are practice at reading a chart you have not seen. They are not the FAA's own test images or questions, and the FAA says those images cannot be previewed.
Does the app work without an internet connection?
Questions, figures and the practice exam work offline once the app has confirmed your subscription on the phone. The free sample needs no connection. You need a connection the first time the app checks a subscription, to open a source link, and to buy or restore a subscription. If the app shows the free sample although you have paid, go online and tap "Restore purchases".
Where is my progress stored? Can I move it to a new phone?
On your device. There is no account and progress is not backed up, so it does not move to a new phone. Deleting the app or choosing "Reset progress" erases it. The privacy policy says what the app collects.
The charts are small. Can I enlarge them?
Yes. Tap a chart, or the "Enlarge figure" button under it, and it opens full-screen at the place you tapped. The "+" and "−" buttons change its size, the question stays above it, and on sectional charts the "Legend" button shows the chart legend.
Is there an iPad or Android version?
The app is for iPhone. There is no iPad layout and no Android version at this time.
Can I use the charts in the app to plan a flight?
No. They are study excerpts and may be out of date. Use current official charts for any real flight.
