How we check

Every answer comes from the federal text, and is checked against it.

A wrong answer key is the worst mistake a question bank can make. This is how we keep ours out.

1. Written from primary sources only

Every question cites the federal text that settles it: the regulations in the eCFR, an FAA handbook or advisory circular, the Aeronautical Information Manual, the Airman Certification Standards, or a National Weather Service page. We never cite a prep company, a blog or a forum, and each question links to its source so you can read the rule yourself.

2. Checked against its source, in a separate pass

Every question was checked against the federal source it cites, in a separate pass from the one that wrote it: the answer, the wrong choices and the explanation. Every figure is checked the same way.

How strong that check is: all 235 chart and figure questions, and the 215 questions added on October 5, 2026, were answered with the answer key hidden before it was compared. The other 381 were checked with the key in view; two samples of them answered with the key hidden since (40 chosen at random and the first 63 written) agreed with the key every time.

3. Original questions, not the FAA's

Every question, choice and explanation is written from scratch. They are practice questions, not actual test questions, and we do not reconstruct real exam questions.

4. One defensible answer

Each question has three choices and exactly one that the cited text makes right. No trick wording, no “all of the above”, and the right answer is not given away by its length or its place: the choices are shown in a shuffled order.

5. Real FAA figures

Chart questions use the FAA's own published figures and sectional chart excerpts, so you practice on what you will see.

6. Kept current, and corrected in the open

Rules change. The bank was last checked against its sources on October 5, 2026. If you find something wrong, the “Report a problem with this question” link under each explained answer (in practice, and in a practice exam's results) reaches us, and we correct it. Every correction made after release is listed on the corrections page.
