Privacy policy
Effective date: October 9, 2026
This version of the app keeps your progress on your device and does not send it anywhere. Purchases are handled by Apple and RevenueCat as described below.
This policy covers the app "Part 107 Test Prep by the Book" and the website dronebythebook.com. Both are run by Three Little Geese LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company, called "we", "us" or "our" below. You can reach us at [email protected].
What the app does not collect
- No account and no sign-up. The app never asks for your name, email address or phone number.
- No analytics of your study. The app does not record which screens you use or how you answer. The purchase service records when the app first and last checked your subscription; see Purchases.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers. The app does not track you across other apps or websites.
- No location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
Your study progress
The app keeps a record of which questions you answered, whether you got them right, when, and your practice exam results. It also keeps your test date if you set one, which lessons you marked as read, and what the flashcards remember about each card: which box it is in, the day it is next due and the day you last judged it. This record is stored only on your device. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it. It is not included in the phone's backup.
You can erase it at any time:
- In the app, open "About and settings" and choose "Reset progress". This erases every answer and practice exam result on the device, and with them what the flashcards remember, which lessons you marked as read and your test date.
- Or delete the app. Deleting the app deletes your progress.
Because the record exists only on your device, we cannot restore it if you erase it or lose the device, and it does not move to a new phone.
Purchases
The app is free to download and includes a free sample. Unlocking everything is a subscription you buy through the Apple App Store. Apple takes the payment. We never see your card number or other payment details. Apple handles that information under its own privacy policy.
To know whether a subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. The app contacts RevenueCat each time it starts, whether or not you have bought anything.
RevenueCat keeps a record under a random ID that its software creates on your device. The record holds:
- any purchase: which plan, when it was bought, when it renews or ends, and the store's transaction identifiers;
- the times the app first and last checked your subscription;
- technical details that come with the connection: your IP address, device model, operating system version, app version, your preferred languages and your store country;
- on an iPhone, the identifier Apple gives to this developer's apps on your phone (the identifier for vendor). That is not the advertising identifier.
RevenueCat does not receive your study progress, your name or your email address.
RevenueCat processes this information on our behalf, under RevenueCat's data processing agreement, only to confirm purchases and to show us subscription totals. It is not used for advertising and is not sold.
Purchase records are kept for as long as they are needed to provide the subscription and to meet tax and accounting duties, or until you ask us to delete them.
To ask for the record tied to your ID to be deleted, email us the ID. It is shown in the app under "About and settings", in "Your data", as "Your purchase id".
Links that leave the app
Each question links to the federal source it is based on. Tapping a source link opens a United States government website (for example ecfr.gov, faa.gov or noaa.gov) in your browser. The app sends that website nothing about you, but the website sees an ordinary visit from your browser and applies its own privacy policy.
The links to this privacy policy, the terms of use and the support page open this website in your browser. "Manage or cancel subscription" opens your App Store account.
"Report a problem with this question" opens a draft email in your own mail app, addressed to us, with the question's number in the subject. The app sends nothing itself. If you send the email, it reaches us like any other email.
This website and email
This website has no advertising and no analytics scripts, and it sets no cookies. The company that hosts it, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs, which include visitors' IP addresses and the pages they requested, for security and to keep the site running.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to answer you and to fix the problem you report. We delete support email when it is no longer needed, and sooner if you ask.
Who we share information with
The outside services involved in this version of the app and website are the ones named on this page: Apple for payment, RevenueCat for confirming purchases, the website host and our email provider. We would also disclose information if the law required it, though we hold very little.
Children
The app and this website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can use the app without an account and without giving your name or email address. You can erase your progress yourself, as described above. You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]. We will answer within 30 days and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Readers in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland: the app is offered only in the United States. If this policy applies to you, we are the controller of the small amount of information described here. We use it to provide a subscription you asked for and to answer your messages, and on no other basis. The information is processed in the United States. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Your progress never leaves your device, so it is protected by your device's own lock and security. Connections to the App Store and to RevenueCat are encrypted in transit.
Changes to this policy
If the app or this policy changes, we will post the new policy on this page and change the effective date at the top. If a change means the app collects something it did not collect before, we will say so in the app's update notes before the change takes effect.
